Hello readers!
This post is going to be shorter than usual because my birthday weekend has officially started and I am fully leaning into it. Technically it has been a birthday week since my husband surprised me with a small gift every single day. I loved every one of them. He is so thoughtful and knows me better than anyone, which officially confirms that he might be the best gift giver to ever exist. There is still one more waiting for me tomorrow on my actual birthday.
I am turning 25, and it feels sweet and grounding to say that out loud. I cannot believe I get to continue growing and becoming a better version of myself, especially next to my husband. Life feels fuller when I look at it from that angle.
I have no idea what we are doing this weekend because it is all a surprise, which feels very on brand for him. I do know that sushi is happening and there will be a birthday toast involved. Before and after that, I am completely in the dark. Somehow no matter how big or small the plan is, he always finds a way to make my birthdays feel special and personal. Today I am waiting for him to come home from work so I can open Friday’s gift because he genuinely loves seeing my reaction.
It is cold out and I am already deep in birthday weekend mode, so dinner tonight is leaning cozy. He was in the mood for pho, which immediately sealed the deal for me. He is not usually a soup person so when he suggested it, I jumped on the opportunity. There will also be a quick run to the store for movie snacks because a quiet night in feels exactly right.
While my husband is at work, I am planning to clean a bit and brainstorm for my blog so I can relax and fully enjoy the days ahead. On the house front, fence materials are being delivered next week. I have no idea how long the entire project will take, but my husband mentioned it might take two days just to prep the backyard. Props to him because I will be observing while he does the heavy lifting.
So here we are:
One birthday weekend officially underway.
One week of thoughtful surprises and quiet excitement.
One sushi dinner waiting with a celebratory toast.
One cozy bowl of pho on a cold night.
One backyard slowly preparing for change.
And me, feeling loved, grateful, and happily in this season of life.
