Hi beautiful readers.
I know I missed last Friday’s post. Unfortunately the day ended up getting much busier than I expected, and by the time I had a quiet moment to sit down and write, I simply did not feel like opening my laptop. And honestly, that is perfectly okay. Some days are meant for living in the moment instead of documenting it
Last Friday started with a trip to Costco, which as we all know is never a quick errand. A Costco run is practically an event. Walking every aisle, grabbing things you did not plan on buying, and leaving with a cart that somehow looks like you are preparing for the next six months.
Then comes the part that takes even longer. Bringing everything home and putting it all away exactly how I like it. If you are someone who enjoys organizing a kitchen, you understand that this process cannot be rushed.
My husband also had Friday off, so we decided to take advantage of the rare day together and go out for a date night. We tried a new spot and enjoyed a relaxed evening out. Nothing fancy, just good food and a little time together.
By the time we got home, the evening had already settled in and writing was the last thing on my mind. Sometimes you simply listen to that feeling and let the night end quietly.
But I am here now and excited for the weekend ahead.
Of course my husband and I will be having our weekly game night. It has become one of those little traditions I genuinely look forward to every week. Snacks on the table, a little playful competition, and the kind of laughter that makes the hours pass quickly.
This weekend also brings something new. I am having a friend over to our house for the first time.
I actually met her at a restaurant where she works, a place my husband and I visit about once a week. One night we started chatting and instantly clicked. The conversation felt easy right away, which is always a good sign.
We eventually decided it would be fun to spend time together outside of the restaurant, so I invited her over for dinner and a small girls night in. Nothing complicated, just good food and time to talk. I will definitely let you know next week how it goes.
I have to say, I am really excited about it. It feels very grown in the best way. Making new friends, hosting dinners, and slowly building a life that feels full and warm.
The house itself is also starting to come together. This week we finally ordered the last few furniture pieces we needed to complete the space. It feels like a big step. Our couch should be arriving sometime this month as well, and I cannot wait for that day.
The only thing that is still on hold is the fence. The weather has not been cooperating at all. It might have been a little optimistic to start that project while it is technically still winter. Some days it is too windy, other days it rains, and sometimes it is simply freezing outside.
So for now the fence is paused until the weather decides to be a little kinder.
So here we are:
One Friday that slipped by.
One very serious Costco trip.
A spontaneous date night.
A new friendship starting over dinner.
And a home that is filling up with the pieces that make it ours.
