If you’re anything like me October makes you want to be spooky but only the cute kind. I love the idea of pumpkins and crisp fall nights but you will not catch me watching anything that involves actual terror or jump scares. I’m more of a cozy blanket, fuzzy socks, and cinnamon roll in hand kind of girl. So tonight I’m sharing some of my go to list of not so scary movies that give you all the fall vibes just without the nightmares.
- When Harry Met Sally (1989): The ultimate fall in New York movie. Cozy sweaters, witty banter, and romance that feels like a warm drink.
- Matilda (1996): Whimsical, nostalgic, and the perfect mix of mischief and heart.
- The Haunted Mansion (2003): A Disney classic that’s fun, ghostly, and just the right amount of silly.
- Hocus Pocus (1993): Classic, magical chaos, and the only witches I’d actually hang out with.
- You’ve Got Mail (1998): Not spooky, but the fall New York aesthetic? Perfection.
- Twilight Series (2008–2012): Misty Washington forests, fall jackets, first love, and the kind of cinematic nostalgia that makes you want to sip coffee and watch the rain. The perfect cozy marathon for a gray October night.
- Casper (1995): Sweet, nostalgic, and just ghostly enough for Halloween without the nightmares.
- Death Becomes Her (1992): Campy, glamorous, and endlessly quotable.
- Harry Potter Series (2001–2011): The ultimate cozy comfort watch. Think rainy nights, glowing pumpkins, and that warm, nostalgic magic that makes October feel like home.
- Autumn in New York (2000): Moody, romantic, and gorgeously filmed like wrapping yourself in a cashmere scarf.
- Coco (2017): vibrant, heartfelt, and perfect for this season.
